At Casa Conciencia, we understand that the true greatness of our mezcal lies not only in its unparalleled taste, but also in the way we respect and care for our environment.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from the planting of the agave to the delivery of each bottle.

Responsible Agricultural Practices, Sustainable Projects.

Responsible Farming: We use organic farming methods that respect and enrich the soil.

We use only organic fertilisers, ensuring that our agave grows in its most natural environment.

Biodiversity: We encourage biodiversity in our fields, planting diverse species of agave and other native plants to maintain a healthy and balanced ecosystem.

Organic Production

Clean Distillation: During the production process, we use optimised ovens to minimise the use of firewood in the cooking of the Agave. In addition, we have implemented a cooling lattice that allows us to reuse water, and we use natural gas and biogas instead of firewood for distillation, thus reducing our environmental impact.


In 2016, the State Development Planning Committee (COPLADE) Report indicated that 20 liters of water and 7 kg of firewood are used for every liter of mezcal produced. We save 8 litres of water and 4 kg of firewood.

Waste Management: We recycle and reuse the by-products of mezcal production, transforming them into compost and fertiliser for our agave crops, fruit trees and ornamental plants. We also convert them into biogas for use in the distillation process.

Innovation and Sustainability

In Casa Conciencia we combine tradition, sustainability and innovation at every stage of our process.

Our distillery is built with materials from the region, using adobes made from agave residues. It also has an environmentally friendly rainwater harvesting system.

The production area was built on different levels, with the aim of improving efficiency and ensuring the well-being of our employees during production processes.

The architectural design of our distillery seeks to create a synergy with the environment, integrating harmoniously with the landscape. In terms of landscaping, the colour of the adobe was carefully selected to match and blend in with the environment, achieving a visual and functional integration with the natural surroundings.
