On June 23rd, Casa Conciencia and Mezcal Alma de Judas took a momentous step by planting 110 trees in the Unidad Deportiva de Las Animas, Nejapa, Yautepec, Oaxaca. This first stage of reforestation marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to our environment, a commitment that aligns perfectly with our fundamental pillar: De mi Huella. De mi Huella.
From My Footprint: Planting a sustainable future
very tree we plant is an investment in a greener, healthier future. Reforestation is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, protect biodiversity and improve air and water quality. By choosing to plant more, we are helping to restore local ecosystems and strengthen the resilience of our environment to the effects of climate change.
Why is it important to plant trees?
▪They combat climate change: Trees absorb carbon dioxide, one of the main greenhouse gases, helping to mitigate global warming.
▪They protect biodiversity: Forests are home to a wide variety of plant and animal species. By reforesting, we are creating new habitats and contributing to biodiversity conservation.
▪Improve air and water quality: Trees filter the air and help maintain water quality, reducing pollution and improving our health.
▪Prevent soil erosion: Tree roots help stabilise the soil, preventing erosion and landslides.
▪They regulate the climate: Trees help moderate temperatures, providing shade in summer and reducing the force of the wind.
This is just the beginning!
This first stage of reforestation is just the first step on a long road. We have big plans to continue expanding our reforestation projects to other areas and work closely with our community to achieve an even greater impact. We invite everyone to join us in this noble cause.
